About Herning

Herning is a young city that, over the last 150 years, has grown from a farming community and crossroads in the middle of Jutland’s heathland into a centre for development, education, trade fairs, culture, and major sporting and music events.

In recent years, Herning has been singled out in several surveys as the most business-friendly municipality in Denmark. The city has also made its mark as an event city hosting world-class international sporting events and concerts.

The people of Herning and the surrounding area have geared themselves towards receiving large numbers of visitors in terms of infrastructure, planning and service. Cooperation is key. Local businesses, cultural institutions and volunteers make an enormous contribution to creating the best possible basis for Herning as an event city.
